Johnny and Bob,
I wanted to let you know how grateful I am for the podcasts. I have been in recovery for 10 years for sex addiction and 3 years for co-dependency. I am fairly new to Celebrate Recovery, almost one year, Oct 27, 2006 when Bob came to Jacksonville to speak on sex addiction. Last month I was asked to become the T on the leadership T.E.A.M. at Mandarin United Methodist Church. I plan to use the podcasts for trainings. I have been listening to them as I drive to several of my out of town meetings, for my co-dependency program. One is 200 miles roundtrip and the other is 150, and since I have been listening to the podcasts the trips go by so much quicker, (no speeding tickets Johnny). As Ecclesiastes 4:9 says “Two are better than one…”, thanks for the company. Also, I really like addressing the positive aspects of the guidelines.
While listening to this first guideline, another aspect that came to me from early in my recovery was that when someone before me shared, “WE all struggle with…”, then I don’t need to say it because he or she said it for me. This would be a relief for me. However, I soon learned that it deprived me of my opportunity to heal. I had to bring my own struggles into the light in order to heal from them. No one can do that for me.
